About us

The British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) was established as an independent charity by British American Tobacco Nigeria in November 2002, with a start-up grant of US$1 million.

The establishment of the Foundation fulfils a commitment made in the Memorandum of Understanding between British American Tobacco Nigeria and the Federal Government of Nigeria, to provide a means for the company to contribute to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

Focusing on Agricultural enterprise

In our first ten years we established over 150 projects in communities across Nigeria, spanning agricultural development, water supply, environmental protection and vocational skills development. Our current focus is on establishing model enterprise farms.
