Vocational skills development

Providing skills for self-employment

We have built vocational centres and provided equipment and training materials for skill development in areas such as plumbing, computer training, soap making, bricklaying, shoemaking, hairdressing and tailoring. Acquiring new, marketable skills develops trainees’ confidence and encourages them to consider self-employment as a viable alternative to unemployment.

"I acquired computer skills and now I can pay my children’s school fees from my work."
Kanu Chidioke, Anambra.

"I have learnt so many things I did not imagine I would ever learn in my life. My expectation for the future is to make everyone proud, especially our sponsor, the BATNF."
Halima Bukar, Kaduna.

"The programme has impacted positively on my life and also on my family."
Amina Nuhu, Kaduna.
