Environmental protection

Encouraging respect for biodiversity

Up to 2012, across 13 states, we provided tree seedlings for a total of 57 hectares of neem, 25 hectares of teak, 15 hectares of teak and gamelina and 5 hectares of gum Arabic tree plantations. We have also provided training in biodiversity management and the production of tree seedlings.

Our involvement in environmental protection continues through our new strategic focus, which combines sustainable agriculture with environmental protection.

Critical environmental issues include:

erosion (sheet, gully and coastal), deforestation and loss of flora and fauna.
